Mrs. Malissa Servies passed away this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Wilkinson, near Browns Valley after several months' illness with a complication of diseases. Mrs. Servies was born April 2, 1856 near Browns Valley and has spent all of her life in this community with the exception of 8 years in Boone County. She was the daughter of Johnson and Ruth Vancleave Todd and was married Sept 12, 1878, to W.a. Servies who died April 15, 1917. She is survived by one son, Orville G. Servies of Noblesville; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Wilkinson and Mrs. Walter Taylor of Browns Valley; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Pauline Todd and Mrs. George Williams of Crawfordsville; and Mrs. Sarah F. Davis of New Market; and three brothers, John W. and George Todd of Crawfordsville and J.B. Todd of Scott City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the Browns Valley Baptist Church of which the deceased has been a life long member. Services will be in charge of Rev. S.E. Hamilton of Indianapolis. Interment in Indian Creek Cemetery. -- kbz
